Russia Registers 15 Ceasefire Breaches in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side in the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire regime in Syria registered 15 truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while Turkey recorded one, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th August, 2018) The Russian side in the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire regime in Syria registered 15 truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while Turkey recorded one, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 15 cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia, Idlib and Aleppo. The Turkish side has registered one case of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Aleppo," the ministry's daily bulletin read.

According to the bulletin, 242 Syrians received medical assistance over the past 24 hours.

"Over the last 24 hours the Russian Center for Reconciliation has held one humanitarian operation: in Mazlum (Deir ez-Zor province) people received 650 food kits with a total weight of 2.8 tonnes," the bulletin said.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. Russia along with Turkey and Iran are guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria.
