PM House spokesperson says appointing Jogezai as governor was just a suggestion and no final decision has been taken on the matter.
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 26th August, 2018) The Prime Minister House on Sunday denied offering Balochistan’s governorship to Dr Amir Muhammad Khan Jogezai.
According to a statement issued by PM House spokesperson, appointing Jogezai as governor was just a suggestion and no final decision has been taken on the matter.
The spokesperson added that no further step was taken on this suggestion after some corruption reports and evidence were revealed against Jogezai.
Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had nominated Dr Amir Muhammad Khan Jogezai for the office of Governor Balochistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan gave approval to the nomination.
On Saturday, it was reported that Jogezai refused PTI’s offer to appoint him as Balochistan governor, following allegations that he is facing a corruption reference in National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Jogezai however claimed there was neither any reference registered in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and nor any case was being proceeded against him in the institution.
