Russian, Indian Diplomats Discuss Preparations for Putins Visit to India - Ministry

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov has discussed with his Indian counterpart Vijay Gokhale preparations for the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India, Russias Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th August, 2018) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov has discussed with his Indian counterpart Vijay Gokhale preparations for the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India, Russias Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

The consultations between Morgulov and Gokhale took place in Moscow on Friday. Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said in July that Putin plans to pay a visit to India in October.

"During the meeting, issues of cooperation between Russia and India in the Asia-Pacific were discussed, as well as the preparations for the forthcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India," the Foreign Ministry said.

The sides vowed to expand bilateral cooperation on international issues, including within such platforms as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the Russia-India-China (RIC) bloc.
