KUBINKA (Russia) (Pakistan Point news / Sputnik - 22nd August, 2018) Russia will stop using Proton carrier rockets in 2025, whereas the rockets' production will be halted in 2020-2021, Director General of Russia's State Space Corporation Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin said on Wednesday.
"Our contacts for Protons [launches] are almost ready, it is 20 rockets, until 2025 � We are ending the production of the Proton-M rocket at the end of 2020 - early 2021," Rogozin told reporters on the sidelines of the Army-2018 defense industry forum.
The official noted that Roscosmos had signed 17 contracts on Proton launches, whereas three more were still under negotiation.
