CHISINAU (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd August, 2018) The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova may organize protest rallies in September ahead of parliamentary elections, President Igor Dodon, backed by the party for the office, said Tuesday.
"We, the president and the Socialist party, are planning to launch primaries this week and to talk to voters in each city. I cannot exclude that there will be protests organized by the Socialist party in every city in September, to explain who is a political 'chameleon' and has moved from one party to another," Dodon said, as aired by NTV Moldova broadcaster.
In July, Dodon said that the Socialist Party was among the key players in the upcoming vote.
The election will be held on February 24, 2019 and will mark the fist time a mixed electoral system is used.
