Senate Likely To Take Up Russia Sanctions Bill After October 1

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st August, 2018) Legislation imposing new sanctions on Russia is likely to face a vote in the full Senate sometime after the beginning of the 2019 fiscal year on October 1, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters on Tuesday.

"I'm personally very interested in a Russian sanctions bill," McConnell said. "I hope there can be a bipartisancoming together with something we can pass. The chances of sandwiching that in honestly in the month of September with all the other items we have swirling around is slim. But we'll be here longer this year, and it would be high on the list for consideration for [Senate] floor time."
