Russia is ready for the development of its military and defense industry cooperation with Angola, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said on Tuesday.

"We reaffirm our readiness and commitment to using the existing potential for the development of our cooperation in the military and defense industry areas � Angola is our long-time reliable partner," Fomin said after his talks with Angolan Secretary of State for National Defense Gaspar Santos Rufino.
Fomin noted that Russia and Angola shared approaches to dealing with modern security challenges, including terrorism.
The relations between the two states were based on equality, respect and mutual interest, Fomin noted, adding that Moscow and Luanda had no disagreements or unsolvable issues between them.
The Russian military official expressed gratitude to the Angolan military and political leadership for its commitment to the further strengthening of ties with Russia and participation in Russias International Army Games and the Army-2018 defense industry forum.
Russia has been engaged in active cooperation with many African countries, including Angola. Moscow and Luanda implement joint projects not only in the military and defense industry area but in space exploration and production of mineral resources.
