MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th August, 2018) Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil asked Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday to encourage Russian energy companies to take part in the upcoming tender on the development of oil and gas deposits in Lebanon.
In the oil and gas field, Russian companies have successfully participated in the first tender on development of oil and gas offshore fields on the Lebanese coat in the Mediterranean Sea. We are preparing for the second round, and I have asked the minister to encourage Russian companies to take part in this round, as their possible win could bring stability to bilateral relations and the region,� Bassil said during a press conference after talks with Lavrov.
