DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th August, 2018) Members of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) came under fire by the Kiev forces on the outskirts of the city of Donetsk on Friday, a representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk Peoples Republic (DPR) in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination said.

"On August 17, representatives of the ICRC came under fire in the village of Staromykhailivka, and they were forced to take refuge in the shelter," the JCCC representative told reporters.

The conflict in Donbas started in 2014, when Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics that refused to recognize the new government in Kiev, which had come to power at the time.
