MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th August, 2018) The Russian Centre for Reconciliation in Syria said Thursday that it registered ceasefire breaches in 20 localities of the Idlib de-escalation zone in northern Syria.
"During the day terrorists carried out shelling attacks against positions of government troops in the towns of Mamuhiyah (2), Beyt-Zivan, Qabuh, Deirouna, Chakruran, Royset Rushu, Dagdan, Ikko, Arafit (2), Safsafa (2), Sandran (2), Ruset-Eskonder and Qermel Mountains (2) in Latakia province, Zalaqiyat, Hama province, Maqanis al-Duwayri, Zahra, al-Amara, Qudehi, Hara, Khaleb al-Jadid (5) districts of Aleppo city," the center's statement reads.
In contrast, former militants in Daraa and Quneitra lied down their arms and surrendered an anti-aircraft weapon, a heavy machine gun, small arms as well as ammunition to the authorities, according to the statement.
Syria has been torn by civil war since 2011, with the government fighting numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations.
