UN Secretary-General Condemns Suicide Attack at Kabul Education Center - Spokesman

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemns the deadly attack at an education center in Kabul that killed dozens of civilians, including many students under 18 years old, United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement on Thursday.

"The Secretary-General condemns in the strongest terms the suicide attack yesterday on an education center in Kabul. According to reports, many of the victims at the co-educational facility were students under the age of 18," Dujarric said.

On Wednesday, a suicide bombing attack at the Mawoud academy in the western part of Kabul killed 48 people and injured 67 others.

The statement said those responsible for the attack must be held responsible, but so far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Guterres offered his condolences to the victims, their families and the government of Afghanistan, Dujarric added.
