MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th August, 2018) Washington's actions against Russian national Maria Butina, arrested in the United States, are unacceptable, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Wednesday.
"It seems that by trying to complicate the life of the Russian as much as possible, Washington would like to force her to cooperate with the investigation in this way. We consider such actions by the US side unacceptable, we demand that Maria Butina be immediately provided with full medical assistance and criminal prosecution against her, based on unfounded accusations, be stopped," Zakharova said at a briefing.
She said Russian diplomats managed to improve Butina's detention conditions, but added that they remain rather harsh.
