MEXICO CITY (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th August, 2018) Mobile internet was tested in Cuba on Tuesday ahead of a full-scale launch, Cuban telecommunications company ETECSA said.
"A test for clients with prepaid mobile service, who could access the Internet for free, was carried out today [on Tuesday]," the company said in a statement.
This and other tests allow to asses the characteristics of the Internet access based on where and when the connection is launched.
The firm added that it would inform its clients of payment plans and other details in a separate statement.
Until now, the Internet in Cuba has mostly been available in special public hotspots via Wi-Fi and in some homes and agencies via a modem.
