South Korean Leader's Participation in Eastern Economic Forum Not Decided - Administration

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has not yet come to a decision concerning his participation in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), the presidential administration in Seoul told Sputnik on Tuesday.

TOKYO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th August, 2018) South Korean President Moon Jae-in has not yet come to a decision concerning his participation in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), the presidential administration in Seoul told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"There is no official position yet, it has not yet been decided if he [the president] will come [to the EEF] or not," an administration's spokesperson said.

The Yonhap news agency reported on Monday that Moon and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un would hold a summit in Pyongyang. Moon's special adviser on foreign affairs said that the summit could happen on September 12-13, which would conflict with the dates of the EEF.

Yonhap reported that South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon may potentially attend the EEF on behalf of the president.

The fourth EEF will be held on September 11-13 in the city of Vladivostok in Russia's Far East.
