Dubai Health Authority Marks International Youth Day

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 12th Aug, 2018) Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, DHA, has commended the contributions made by all youth working in the DHA to the developmental drive of the health sector in Dubai.

Al Qutami made this statement to mark International Youth Day, which falls on 12th August every year, adding that since the establishment of the UAE, supporting and enabling the youth had been a priority of the late UAE founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Empowering the youth and supporting them is also the prime goal of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Al Qutami stressed that the DHA is keen to follow in the path of the UAE’s leadership, which is why it launched the Youth Council.

The council seeks to organise local, Federal and international youth programmes, in line with the directions of the UAE and Dubai to strengthen the role of the nation’s youth in the health sector.

It also aims to activate the role of the youth and strengthen their participation in education, as well as health and social activities organised by the authority.

Al Qutami stressed that the authority has sought to develop plans and programmes that will enable the youth to participate in the development process effectively, and provide them with the necessary tools to continue the achievements of the UAE in various fields and help meet the Dubai 2021 Plan and the DHA’s 2016-2021 strategy.

He concluded by calling on the youth to invest in their capabilities, stressing that the UAE’s wise leadership spares no effort to empower and support young people, not only at the local level, but also at the Arab level through extended youth programmes.
