President Mamnoon postpones foreign trip for Imran's oath-taking ceremony

President Mamnoon's trip was scheduled for Aug 16 till Aug 19

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 10th August, 2018) President Mamnoon Hussainhas postponed his three-day visit to Edinburgh to administer oath to incoming prime minister.

President Mamnoon's trip was scheduled for Aug 16 till Aug 19 while the oath is likely to be administered to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Aug 17.

The president has postponed his three-day Edinburgh visit after a meeting with caretaker Information Minister Ali Zafar.

During the meeting, the caretaker Information Minister stressed that the presence of President Hussain was necessary for government formation.

In view of this, President Mamnoon has decided to stay back in Pakistan and will now administer the oath of Prime Minister office to Imran Khan on Aug 17.

The newly-elected members of National Assembly will take oath on Aug 13 after the President Mamnoon approved a summary to summon the session of the assembly.

The nominations papers for the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker will also be submitted on Aug 13.
