Imran Khan was given the protocol of a prime minister
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th August, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan is unhappy over the protocol he received as he left from his Bani Gala residence to a local hotel to attend the party’s parliamentary committee.
Imran Khan was given the protocol of a prime minister as his motorcade reached the hotel for meeting.
Media reports said that Imran Khan got upset when he saw additional police vans. He asked why the route was taken without permission. The PTI chairman asked to apprise Islamabad Police that he does not want such protocol. Neither the PTI had requested for extra protocol. Moreover, he asked to return the additional security vehicles from Bani Gala.
Earlier, Prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan had said he will not take any protocol.
The PTI chairman said that neither he would take any protocol nor he would allow his ministers. He said that he himself is the guardian the taxpayers’ money.
Imran Khan had decided to shift to Speaker House in Ministers’ Enclave in Islamabad instead of Prime Minister House.
Giving clear directions, Imran Khan said that the hard earned public money would not be invested in luxuries for the leaders.
In his victory speech, denying protocol, the prime minister-in-waiting had declined to use Prime Minister’s House. Khan had announced that he would not use the Prime Minister’s House as his residence and that his party would later decide the fate of the building.
