Unity in diversity: Coke Studio season 11 is something to look forward to!

‘Hum Dekhenge’ comes at a time when the people of Pakistan are set to enter into a new democratic transition on July 25.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 24th July, 2018) Coke Studio, the biggest and leading music platform in the country, is finally set to launch its 11th season.

The teaser of Coke Studio Season 11 features the famous poem by Faiz Ahmad Faiz ‘Hum dekhenge’ sung by 70 different artists. These different voices are enough to show unity in diversity as Coke Studio aims to be all inclusive this time.

‘Hum Dekhenge’ comes at a time when the people of Pakistan are set to enter into a new democratic transition on July 25. Hence, it is a song for the people and by the people of Pakistan.

Here is the line-up of the season 11 as featured in this song: Abida Parveen, Abrar-ul-Haq, Ahad Raza Mir, Aima Baig, Ali Azmat, Ali Sethi, Amrina and Ariana, Asim Azhar, Asrar, Ataullah Esakhelvi, Bilal Khan, Chand Tara Orchestra, Elizabeth Rai, Fareed Ayaz, Abu Muhammad Qawal & Brothers, Gul Panra, Haniya Aslam, Hassan Jahangir, Humaira Arshad, Jawad Ahmad, Jimmy Khan, Khumariyaan, Lyari Underground Band, Mishal Khawaja, Momina Mustehsan, Mughal-e-Funk, Natasha Baig, Rachel Viccaji, Riaz Qadri and Ghulam Qadri, Sahir Ali Bagga, Sanwal Esakhelvi, Shamu Bai, Shuja Haider, Sounds of Kolachi, The Sketches, Throat Musicians Darehan Khan Maula Baksh, Shayan Maula Baksh and Mangal, Vishnu Arjun, Young Desi and Zarsanga. The season will also feature EDM band Krewalla and (for the first time) trans-individuals Lucky and Naghma.

The line-up surely pays a tribute to the white part of the Pakistani flag. However, what takes the attention here is the inclusion of two tansgender – Lucky and Naghma – who are nothing but proud Pakistanis as they sing along the lines ‘Jo mein bhi hun or tm bhi ho’.

Earlier, with Coke Studio Explorer, producers Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi, revealed some hidden music talent of Pakistan after travelling across the country in search of music gems.

The producers of Coke Studio Explorer, Zohaib Kazi and Ali Hamza, have certainly done a great job in discovering and including talent from all over Pakistan this season. We’ll soon know what more they have in store for us!
