Maryam Nawaz was offered to apply for better class/facilities by the jail superintendent but she refused
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 14th July, 2018) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz reached Lahore airport last night from where they were arrested and shifted to Adiala Jail.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are being kept in B-class of Adiala Jail. These B-class barracks have fans only and the both of them spent the night without air conditioner. The B-class jail has facilities such as a 21-inch television, newspapers, a bed and fan.
According to reports, Maryam Nawaz has refused to take better facilities in the jail.
In a letter circulating on social media, Maryam Nawaz wrote that she was offered to apply for better class/facilities by the jail superintendent as per rules.
She, however, refused according to her own will and wrote that this is purely her decision and taken without any pressure.
The Accountability Court of Islamabad Friday night issued imprisonment warrants for former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz after the convicted persons were arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from Lahore airport and later shifted them to Islamabad.
The accountability court would conduct further hearings in remaining two graft references pertaining to Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment against Nawaz Sharif in the premises of Adyala Jail under Section 16 of the NAB ordinance.
