Qamarul Islam’s children gear up election campaign for NA-59 following NAB arrest

The 12-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter reached Rawalpindi in the form of caravan

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 27th June, 2018) The 12-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) candidate from NA-59 are holding their father Qamarul Islam’s election campaign after he was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Qamarul Islam’s son Salaar islam and daughter Uswa Qamar have also entered politics. The two reached Rawalpindi in the form of a caravan. A large number of PMLN workers were present there who gave a warm welcome to Qamar’s children.

In her speech on the occasion, Uswa said that this Jalsa (public meeting) is a Jalsa of Nawaz Sharif and this caravan is Nawaz Sharif’s caravan.

"Rok sako to rok lo (Stop us if you can)," she said.

Uswa also raised the slogans of ‘Vote ko izzat do’ (Give respect to vote).

The NAB Lahore arrested PMLN ticket holder from NA-59 Rawalpindi-III Qamar in connection with Punjab Saaf Pani Company corruption case on Monday.

The PMLN candidate is accused of having awarded contracts for 84 water treatment plants at a higher price.

According to the NAB, Qamar misused his position and awarded contracts at a higher rate.

The arrest came a day after the PMLN fielded him against disgruntled PMLN leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in NA-59.

An Accountability Court on Tuesday handed over Engineer Qamarul Islam accused in the Saaf Pani Company corruption case to NAB on 14-day physical remand.
