SHC rejects resignation of Larkana judge rebuked by CJP Nisar

The High Court sources said Solangi sent his resignation on a plain paper and such a resignation cannot be accepted.

Larkana (Pakistan Point News – 26th June, 2018) The Sindh High Court has refused to accept the resignation of the additional session judge of Larkana following Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar’s rude attitude.

Larkana Additional Session Judge Gul Zameer Solangi had submitted his resignation to Sindh High Court registrar but according to High Court sources, Solangi had sent his resignation on a plain paper and such a resignation cannot be accepted.

On the other hand, the court registrar said that he got to know about Solangi’s resignation through media. He said that he has not received any resignation from the additional session and district judge.

He said that we can only respond to it upon receiving a formal resignation.

CJP Nisar, on a visit to Larkana on Saturday, had expressed anger at the sessions judge during a surprise visit to district courts in Larkana.

After inquiring into the lower court's ongoing proceedings, the chief justice expressed anger after he spotted the judge's mobile phone on his desk. He picked up the judge’s mobile phone and threw it on his desk, warning the judge to leave his mobile phone in his chamber during hearings.

In his resignation letter, Solangi wrote that he was posted in Larkana on March 20, 2017. He stated that he is resigning because of the chief justice's humiliating behaviour during ongoing proceedings of his court, which was widely aired in the electronic, print and social media.

He further said that he has suffered deep anguish and injury to his self-respect and dignity and therefore, he is unable to continue his job with the esteemed organisation.
