Sustainable Transport Award committees explore improvements for next edition

The Higher Organising Committee and the Jury Committee of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport, DAST, have held a meeting at the head office of the Roads and Transport Authority, RTA.

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2018) The Higher Organising Committee and the Jury Committee of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport, DAST, have held a meeting at the head office of the Roads and Transport Authority, RTA.

The meeting saw discussions on several issues related to improvements of the award’s business processes in the forthcoming 11th edition of the award.

The meeting was attended by Nasir Hamad Bu Shehab, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee; Hamdan Al Shaa’er, Chairman of the Jury Committee; and several members of the higher committee.

Bu Shehab stressed the importance of preparing well for the 11th edition of the award, which will be released on 1st August, 2018, and reviewed key lessons learnt from the previous round. He called for benefiting from feedback and lessons learnt to ensure successful delivery of the forthcoming edition of DAST.

"During the gathering, the composition of the Jury Committee for the 11th DAST was discussed such that it would include experts in the newly introduced categories of the award," he said.

He also stressed the importance of field visits by the Jury Committee to the venues of participants to ensure applications were accurately judged on merit. Bu Shehab called for further simplification of the submissions.

"Since inception, the Higher Organising Committee of DAST has been endeavouring to improve the business process to realign it with the extensive improvements of the RTA’s projects and initiatives. It was also concerned with broadening the participation in the award to include the largest possible number of government, semi-government entities as well as private companies to contribute to the sustainable transport in the UAE," Bu Shehab added.

The Higher Organising Committee of DAST urges the business community of the UAE to make submissions to the award through the DAST award website to ensure a speedy and smooth submission.
