Faisalabad, (Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2018) : A former employee of Allied Hospital has been found to be involved in the sale of 1,200 newborns. During investigation, the accused, Khursheeda Bibi, told the police that she has been in buying and selling newborns for the past 30 years. She said three gynaecologists of Allied Hospital were also involved in the illegal business. According to Khursheeda Bibi, they sold male newborns for Rs300,000 each while female newborns would be given for Rs200,000 each.

"The money we made by selling newborns would also be spent on the [hospital's] ward," she told the police. "I would only get the commission [on each sale]." Police said Khursheeda Bibi and her husband would also sell illegitimate newborns. A case was filed against the accused and she was sent on judicial remand. However, when the hospital management was approached they denied Khursheeda Bibi's claims of gynaecologists also being involved in the illegal business. When asked, Allied Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Khurram Altaf confirmed Khursheeda Bibi was a former employer of the medical facility. He said she was working in the outdoor ward but was suspended after she was found involved in kidnapping newborns. He said she was only naming the hospital's gynaecologists to save herself.
