DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 06th Jun, 2018) The Emirates Youth Council today organised the second session of the "Youth Debate Initiative" at the Youth Hub in the Emirates Towers, under the theme, "The Impact of Social Media on Family Cohesion," which was attended by Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Chairperson of the Emirates Youth Council, and members of local youth councils and Emirati youth, with the aim of supporting the country’s efforts to strengthen and raise the overall abilities of the youth.

Two youth teams discussed the impact of social media on family cohesion. The first team presented examples of how social media can improve family cohesion, based on research that it conducted before the session.

The UAE’s youth have proven that they are special and ambitious and can attain the highest positions and be professional at work," Al Mazrui said.

Hessa Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development and Member of the Judging Panel, expressed her happiness at participating in youth initiatives that highlight the awareness of Emirati youth about the importance of developing their dialogue and public speaking skills, and aim to promote respect and acceptance of others, as well as dialogue with those with different opinions and ideas objectively and logically while preserving the Emirati values established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
