FCSA hosts first meeting of "Number One Challenge Project"

The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, FCSA, hosted the first annual meeting of the members of the "Number One Challenge Project" in 2018, with the participation of 27 federal and local government authorities, to discuss the project’s roadmap and its future plans and improvement opportunities.

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 06th Jun, 2018) The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, FCSA, hosted the first annual meeting of the members of the "Number One Challenge Project" in 2018, with the participation of 27 federal and local government authorities, to discuss the project’s roadmap and its future plans and improvement opportunities.

The meeting’s participants highlighted the project’s importance in achieving the UAE Vision 2021 and improving the country’s ranking in competitiveness indexes, through working systematically and performing better in specific indexes, which are chosen according to strategic priorities based on studies and research prepared by the FCSA’s Competitiveness Strategy Work Team and its partner federal and local government authorities.

Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the FCSA, said that the FCSA monitors around 1,500 competitive indexes and 17 global reports that cover a variety of national economic and social sectors while pointing out that the goal of holding the meeting is to strengthen the joint work of its participating authorities and adopting realistic plans, through working in an innovative manner to choose the appropriate competitiveness indexes for each authority, to improve the country’s performance in these indexes.

During the meeting, the "Competitiveness Ambassadors Initiative" was presented by the FCSA’s Competitiveness Strategy Team, which includes a training programme that aims to share knowledge among government partners, through a diverse group of activities, such as lectures, bilateral meetings and workshops. The initiative aims to simplify the concepts related to competitiveness for government workers with various specialisations and prepare them to deal effectively with global competitiveness reports and indexes.

The meeting concluded with the participants agreeing to study and implement their recommended strategic plans, as well as to utilise the necessary resources and work with team spirit to remove their obstacles and achieve their common goals.
