Shahid Afridi donates $20,000 for Carribean Hurricane victims

After retiring from cricket, Shahid Afridi is running his welfare organization named Shahid Afridi Foundation

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 1st June, 2018) Former captain and all-rounder of Pakistan cricket team, Shahid Afridi has recently been in news for his welfare work.

However, taking a leap forward, the star cricketer has announced to donate $20,000 for the Hurricane victims in Carribean.

Afridi made this announcement in a tweet on Friday.

“Thank you ICC for providing me the opportunity of contributing to #CricketRelief cause. It was a real honour for me and a memory I'll cherish for long. On behalf of my Foundation I'm making a donation 20000$ for the Hurricane victims in Caribbean. #HopeNotOut,” Afridi wrote on his Twitter account.

After retiring from cricket, Shahid Afridi is running his welfare organization named Shahid Afridi Foundation. The NGO aims to improve the lives of the underprivileged communities through various efforts, focusing the state of healthcare and education within the country and providing clean and safe drinking water to the poor.

The Twitter account of Shahid Afridi Foundation says that it works "for the less privileged to give them what we can to keep their #HopeNotOut".

Afridi’s humanitarian efforts have been appreciated at home and abroad.

Earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton also extended best wishes for the star cricketer and supported Shahid Afridi Foundation.
