Caretaker PM vows holding timely and fair elections

Says ECP will be helped in this regard

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 1st June, 2018) Caretaker prime minister Justice (r) Nasir-ul-Mulk has said that he will fulfill the responsibility for which he has been appointed.

Talking to media persons after taking oath as caretaker prime minister on Friday, Justice (r) Mulk said, “Mark my words, the election will be held on time. The Election Commission will be helped so that a fair and fair election is held on time.”

He said that he will keep a small cabinet. The cabinet will be announced after consultation.

Earlier, Justice (r) Nasir-ul-Mulk took oath as caretaker prime minister of the country. The oath-taking ceremony was held in President House on Friday.

President Mamnoon Hussain took oath from the caretaker prime minister. Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and heads of all three armed forces of Pakistan were present on the occasion besides other civil and military leaders.

The government completed its democratic term on May 31. Following this, a caretaker set-up has to be put in which will be responsible to hold the next general elections.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced holding general elections on July 25.
