Usman Dar to now fight Khawaja Asif in court of people

Says there would be a great election in Sialkot

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 1st June, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Usman Dar has said that he now will fight against Khawaja Asif in the court of people.

Talking to media after the Supreme Court gave its verdict in favor of former foreign minister Kh Asif on Friday, Dar said that he is happy the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced elections.

Recalling when Islamabad High Court disqualified Asif for life, he had said that Dar could not defeat me in the court of people that’s why he went to Supreme Court.

“Now we will fight in the court of people. There would be a great election in Sialkot. I assure my PTI voters that I will continue to fight against this Mafia,” Dar said.

I want to give a special message to Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz that this is the Supreme Court of Pakistan that you don’t trust. This Supreme Court announced verdict in PMLN’s favor today,” the PTI leader said.

He added that we are waiting for complete judgment.

“We will decide in light of the detailed ruling if we have to file a review petition or not,” Dar said.

PTI’s Usman Dar had filed the petition seeking disqualification of Asif for concealing the facts that he was an Iqama holder, legal advisor of a company in UAE and his recent labour card was issued on June 29, 2017.

On April 26, Khawaja Asif was disqualified by the IHC on the basis of holding an Abu Dhabi Iqama (work permit). Khawaja Asif on the other hand took a view that he concealed nothing and his Iqama was declared in the nomination paper. He had challenged the IHC decision disqualifying him in the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed IHC verdict disqualifying former foreign minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Khawaja Asif. According to the SC verdict, Kh Asif will be allowed to contest elections.
