Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 21st May, 2018) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued show cause notice of contempt of court to anchors hosting Ramzan shows despite court orders banning them.

Issuing contempt of court notices, the court has sought them in personal capacity on May 23. Notices have also been issued to owners of tv channels for violating court orders.

The anchors who have been issued notices include Fahad Mustafa, Sahir Lodhi, Aamir Liaquat and Nabeel Zafar.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has shut down all religious TV channels, including QTV. No 'circus' or neelam ghar will be allowed to be broadcast on TV this Ramazan, Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui said on May 8 while hearing a case concerning the implementation of the broadcast regulator's code of conduct for Ramazan transmissions and morning shows on television.

A PEMRA representative present for the hearing submitted the watchdog's guidelines for Ramazan transmissions and assured the court that all channels would have to abide by them.
