Cyber Crime: Woman arrested for harassing man in Sindh

The woman harassed the man by sending her messages on WhatsApp and Facebook upon refusing to marry her

Karachi (Pakistan Point News – 10th May, 2018) In an unusual incident of cyber crime in the country, a woman was arrested for harassing a man.

According to a news report published in a local newspaper, many people who have harassed women have been arrested and an action has also been taken against them. However, in an unusual incident of harassment, not a man but a woman was arrested for harassing a man.

An incident of a woman harassing and blackmailing a man surfaced in Khairpur Mirs city of Sindh. The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cyber crime branch arrested the woman over man’s complaint. Meanwhile, the woman confessed to harassing the man during investigation.

Sindh FIA Director Munir Sheikh said that the woman harassed the man in Khairpur by sending her messages on WhatsApp and Facebook upon refusing to marry her. The woman also received money from him by blackmailing him and leaked his objectionable pictures as well.

The accused had also asked for more money from the man when he finally decided to reach out to cyber crime department. The plaintiff registered a complaint after contacting the cyber crime circle.

Taking an action over the complaint, the FIA arrested the woman and seized her computer and mobile phone. Confessing to the crime, the woman said that she had decided to harass him for refusing to marry her. However, the woman was released after an agreement was signed between the plaintiff and accused.
