Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 21st Apr, 2018) Singer and tv personality Momina Mustehsan in her second tweet has called on Ali Zafar to respond to the sexual harassment allegations made by Meesha Shafi.
“Still waiting for you to respond Ali Zafar. Do you think you have ever, knowingly or unknowingly, violated a woman in any way or form?” Mustehsan said in her tweet.
Earlier, she had asked the offenders to own up to their ill-deeds. She has also initiated #ImSorry hashtag asking for apologies for the victims.
Pakistan’s renowned actress, model and singer Meesha Shafi accused fellow singer Ali Zafar of sexual harassment on micro-blogging website Twitter on Thursday, sparking a new debate in the country.
In her tweet on Thursday, Meesha Shafi said, “I have been subjected, on more than one occasion, to sexual harassment of physical nature at the hands of a colleague from my industry: Ali Zafar.”
Meesha said that she is sharing this because she believes that by speaking out about her own experience of sexual harassment, she will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society.
Ali Zafar, however, denied the accusations saying that he will take the matter to the court.
The #Metoo campaign continues as other people, including Maham Javaid, Leena Ghani, Hamna Raza and Sofi had come up with their stories of being harassed by the singer.
