Names to appoint caretaker prime minister “inappropriate”

Renowned journalist Hamid Mir has said that the names being considered by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to appoint a caretaker prime minister seem inappropriate

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2018) Renowned journalist Hamid Mir has said that the Names being considered by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to appoint a caretaker prime minister seem inappropriate. Talking in a program at a private tv channel, Mir said that opposition leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah also has a few names in his mind. Nonetheless, when both Abbasi and Shah will meet to discuss these names, three out of these six names will be eliminated.

“The remaining three names will then come under consideration. There will be objections but the matter will not be referred to the election commission. The matter might go to the parliamentary committee but I can tell that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not agree on the nomination made by Abbasi. Similarly, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz would not agree to the two names being considered by PPP. And so, they would reach a compromise on the remaining three names,” the journalist said.

“The statement politics is their need because the election is approaching near. But when these people sit in a closed room to discuss matters, they are not as they appear,” Mir added. He further said that the nominee for caretaker prime minister being suggested by Abbasi belongs to Punjab while Shah wants to recommend people from his province Sindh. This is very inappropriate.
