At least 26 people were killed and 18 others sustained injuries when a suicide bomber struck on the road to a Shiite shrine in Kabul on Wednesday, as Afghans celebrate the Persian new year Nasrat Rahimi, the deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said that a suicide bomber on foot detonated his explosives in front of the Ali Abad Hospital, in the Kart-e Sakhi area of western Kabul, killing 26 and wounding 18, according to preliminary figures.

Kabul, (Pakistan Point News - 21st Mar, 2018) : At least 26 people were killed and 18 others sustained injuries when a suicide bomber struck on the road to a Shiite shrine in Kabul on Wednesday, as Afghans celebrate the Persian new year Nasrat Rahimi, the deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said that a suicide bomber on foot detonated his explosives in front of the Ali Abad Hospital, in the Kart-e Sakhi area of western Kabul, killing 26 and wounding 18, according to preliminary figures. There were reports that the bomber had attempted but failed to reach an even bigger crowd celebrating the Persian New Year holiday, known as Nowruz, in front of a nearby Shiite shrine in Kart-e Sakhi. Islamic State claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on Wednesday in Afghanistan's capital Kabul targeting a Shi'ite shrine, the militant group's Amaq news agency said.
