A woman from Sialkot was allegedly subjected to brutal torture by her husband and in-laws on Tuesday for giving birth to a female.
SIALKOT, (Pakistan Point News - 30th Jan, 2018) : A woman from Sialkot was allegedly subjected to brutal torture by her husband and in-laws on Tuesday for giving birth to a female. According to 22-year-old Urooj, her husband Zaheer and his parents beat her profusely for once again giving birth to a girl. This was the second time that Urooj had given birth to a girl and evidently this did not settle well with her husband or her in-laws.
"My mother-in-law asked me why I had given birth to a girl. They attempted to kill me but residents of the area saved my life," she said. Torture marks can be seen clearly on Urooj's face. She is currently undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital, Duska and her new born baby girl is in her custody. Police have arrested the suspect and registered a case against Urooj's in-laws. Police are conducting an investigation into the case.
