ISLAMABAD,(Pakistan Point News - 17th Jan, 2018) : The Learning Innovation Division of Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) will hold an International Conference from March 19-20, 2018 to revisit practices and trends of professional development in higher education at national and international levels. As the education landscape is rapidly changing across the globe, the higher education institutions need a well-designed professional development framework which could cater to present day needs of the universities.
It must be considered an essential component of a comprehensive system of teaching and learning that supports faculty to equip themselves with innovative techniques that fulfill their classroom demands, effectively transform knowledge and build competencies they need to thrive in the 21st century and be able to meet international standards of teaching. The conference will provide opportunities to educationists, researchers and academicians to address the challenges and issues related to the development and implementation of professional development and devising future strategies/policies by the higher education institutions.
The recommendations and intellectual input gathered from national and international experts in the conference will help formulate a teaching excellence framework of professional development that will enhance standard and quality of teaching in the higher education.
