Russian Health Ministry Adopts New COVID-19 Treatment Protocol

The Russian health ministry said on Wednesday that it has added new outpatient treatment regimens, including the budesonide drug, in the 12th version of interim methodological recommendations for coronavirus treatment

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2021) The Russian health ministry said on Wednesday that it has added new outpatient treatment regimens, including the budesonide drug, in the 12th version of interim methodological recommendations for coronavirus treatment.

"New outpatient treatment regimens have been included (in the new version of recommendations), including the budesonide medicine for patients with a mild course of the disease. A scheme with janus kinase inhibitors (baricitinib and tofacitinib) has been introduced for patients with a moderate course of the disease," the ministry said in a statement.

It also revised treatment regimens for patients with moderate and severe courses of the disease to include the drug remdesivir and human antibodies against COVID-19, according to the statement.

The ministry excluded the drug umifenovir from treatment schemes for coronavirus patients with risk factors and hospitalized patients with mild course of the disease.
