Russian Health Ministry Adds CoviVac, Sputnik Light Vaccines To COVID Prevention Guideline

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th May, 2021) The Russian Ministry of Health announced on Friday that it included homegrown coronavirus vaccines CoviVac and Sputnik Light in an updated version of guidelines on treating and preventing COVID-19.

"The [guidelines'] section on specific prevention of infection in adults has been supplemented with information on the inactivated whole-virion concentrated purified coronavirus vaccine CoviVac and the vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 Sputnik Light," the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry also added five drugs to the list of medicine approved for treating the coronavirus in adults � Favipiravir, Remdesivir, human immunoglobulin against COVID-19, Interferon-alfa, as well as Umifenovir.
