Jeddah, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 02 يوليو 2026ء) The mural offers a documentary-style journey through the evolution of the water sector, tracing its transformation from its early foundations to the Kingdom's emergence as a global leader in water management and sustainability. It highlights the major milestones that have shaped the sector and reflects the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to develop and safeguard its water resources.
The exhibit presents a chronological account of the sector's development, beginning in 1931 when the founder, King Abdulaziz, commissioned a team of international experts to conduct geological surveys, identify geological formations, and locate water resources, laying the foundations for the Kingdom's scientific approach to water management.
The mural also outlines the Kingdom's future vision for the sector, including hosting the World Water Forum in 2027 and advancing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by increasing water service coverage to 85% and sanitation coverage to 70%, while ensuring a continuous 24-hour water supply. Looking further ahead, it highlights the Kingdom's 2050 goal of expanding water production capacity to 21 million cubic meters per day to meet the growing needs of more than 20,000 communities across the Kingdom.
