Jeddah, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 27 يونيو 2026ء) The tours offered visitors a rich cultural experience, introducing them to Jeddah’s historical significance as the gateway to the Two Holy Mosques and highlighting the centuries-long movement of pilgrims and merchants from around the world. The experience reflects the city’s deep-rooted heritage and its longstanding role as a center of cultural and human exchange along the Red Sea coast.
The Historic Hajj Route is one of the cultural and tourism routes designed to revive historical memory and strengthen visitors’ connection to the city’s heritage. It showcases the key stations that formed part of the Hajj journey throughout the centuries, reflecting Jeddah’s prominent position since Uthman ibn Affan, the third caliph of islam, ordered the port to be moved from Al-Shuaiba to Jeddah in the first century AH, establishing it as the principal seaport serving the Two Holy Mosques.
The tours form part of the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to revitalize Historic Jeddah and preserve its architectural and cultural heritage through the development of heritage sites and their promotion as tourism destinations. These efforts reinforce Historic Jeddah’s standing as a global heritage destination and strengthen its position on the cultural tourism map, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to enrich the experiences of visitors and pilgrims.
