Honey Producers in Al-Jouf Begin Citrus Honey Production Season

Sakaka, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 08 يونيو 2026ء) Farmers and honey producers in the region produce various types of honey, as bees rely on flowering trees on farms and in large-scale agricultural projects across the governorates, in addition to the environmental diversity found in wilderness areas and nature reserves.

Al-Jouf Region produces various types of honey annually across successive seasons during the summer period, including spring blossom honey, citrus honey, caper honey (shaflah), pumpkin honey, tamarisk honey, and sidr honey.

Honey producers rely on farms in Sakaka and other governorates for citrus honey production, on large agricultural projects cultivating pumpkins for pumpkin honey production, and on caper trees in open wild areas.

The relationship between farmers and honey producers is complementary: farmers benefit from bee-assisted pollination of trees, while honey producers benefit from producing different types of honey.

The citrus honey production season runs from April to June each year. Citrus honey is considered a table honey suitable for general consumption by adults and children.
