Jeddah, October (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 20 اكتوبر 2025ء) GASTAT President Fahad Aldossari delivered a speech highlighting that the forum serves as a key scientific platform for the exchange of expertise among academic and professional institutions. He emphasized its role in advancing research and academic programs, developing statistical methodologies, and fostering innovation in statistics through modern technologies and strategic partnerships.
Aldossari also announced the launch of the “Road to Riyadh” program, which acts as the preparatory phase for the Kingdom’s hosting of the sixth UN World Data Forum in November 2026 in Riyadh. The program aims to raise global awareness of Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in the statistical field, showcase its leadership in digital transformation, and enhance the national statistical system. The one-year program will feature workshops, events, and local, regional, and international dialogue sessions involving leading experts and global statistical institutions.
The agenda included panel discussions on topics such as the role of statistics in community development, modern methodologies for improving data quality, ethics and data privacy in statistical work, and practices of statistical offices in providing data to users.
The first edition of the forum, held by GASTAT in 2024, saw strong participation and produced valuable recommendations that contributed to advancing statistical work. This year’s event coincides with the celebration of World Statistics Day 2025, observed on October 20, reflecting the importance of official statistics in supporting development and decision-making processes.
