Saudi Arabia Achieves Significant Reduction in Food Loss and Waste

Riyadh, September (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 30 سبتمبر 2025ء) The announcement was made yesterday in Riyadh at a ceremony organized by the General Food Security Authority (GFSA) and its Letadom Program, a national platform aimed at reducing food loss and waste. The event, attended by representatives from government, private, and non-profit sectors, as well as regional and international organizations, was sponsored by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and Chairman of the GAFS board of Directors Abdulrahman Alfadley.

At the event, Alfadley said these results affirm the effectiveness of national strategies for food, water, and environmental security. He noted that these results enhance the Kingdom's international competitiveness in reducing food waste and support ongoing efforts to raise community awareness about sustainable practices, contributing to food security goals.

The ceremony also included the launch of the Letadom platform and the signing of eight cooperation agreements aimed at promoting solutions and innovations to address food loss and waste. Additionally, 106 entities were recognized for their contributions to enhancing food security.
