Cultural Investment Conference Panel Emphasizes Cultural Investment as Key to Economic Diversification

Riyadh, September (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 30 سبتمبر 2025ء) The opening session, titled "From Policy to Prosperity—Culture as a Strategic Investment," featured Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim, moderated by Editor-in-Chief of Arab news Faisal Abbas.

Al-Falih affirmed that the Ministry of Investment will support the Ministry of Culture by identifying sector requirements, attracting investors, providing financing, and organizing workshops. "This collaboration has generated over 40 investment opportunities, including profitable projects and those with high potential. Efforts include accelerating licensing procedures and engaging governance bodies and donors," he stated.

Al-Falih highlighted the cash and non-cash incentives launched by HRH the Crown Prince, which have stimulated the film industry and attracted international producers. Initiatives such as the Ignite digital content program support animation, short films, culinary arts, visual arts, music, and fashion. He said these efforts are expected to triple job opportunities in the sector over the coming years as the private sector's role expands.

Alibrahim noted that the global creative sector is valued at $3.4 trillion, making it crucial for economic diversification. Culture has transformed the Kingdom's economic landscape and is key to attracting creatives and stimulating growth. He stated that every Dollar invested in culture generates an economic impact of up to $2.5 and creates direct job opportunities.

He added that the Ministry of Culture and its ecosystem are actively training around 5,000 people, in addition to sponsoring thousands of students to pursue degrees in these sectors since the start of Saudi Vision 2030.

"Our objective under Vision 2030 is to accelerate the diversification of the economy. Culture has played a significant role in driving the first wave of growth in new sectors – tourism, culture, entertainment, and sports,” he said.

The Cultural Investment Conference, held from September 29 to 30, coincides with the rapid growth of the Saudi cultural sector, highlighting its potential for a sustainable cultural industry and broader investment opportunities.
