CST Unveils ICT Readiness Plan to Ensure Seamless 1446 Hajj Season

Makkah, May (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 26 مايو 2025ء) Acting Governor of CST Haytham bin Abdulrahman AlOhali affirmed CST's commitment as the Kingdom's ICT regulator to leveraging its full capabilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality communication and technology services. This is achieved through a robust digital infrastructure and collaborative efforts that enable public and private entities to provide seamless digital services. Furthermore, the frequency spectrum is meticulously monitored using advanced technology to detect and mitigate potential interference. He praised the significant efforts to provide services at the Holy Sites during the Hajj season, reflecting the leadership's generous support.

Alswaha and AlOhali conducted a field visit to telecom service provider sites in Makkah and the Holy Sites to review the sector’s preparations. AlOhali noted that these preparations included more than 10,500 Wi-Fi access points across Makkah, Madinah, and the Holy Sites. mobile internet speeds reached 264 Mbps in Makkah, marking a 10% increase compared to last year, and 336 Mbps in Madinah, representing a 19% increase. 5G coverage reached 99% in Makkah, Madinah, and the Holy Sites, while 4g coverage in the same areas exceeded 99%.

More than 4,000 personnel from the communications and technology sector are contributing this year to serving pilgrims. CST has completed preparations to receive pilgrims at key congregation points and entry ports, ensuring the ICT infrastructure is ready to meet their needs.

Inspection visits were conducted to King Abdulaziz International Airport, the Halat Ammar Border Crossing, Yanbu Port, and the Jadidat Arar Border Crossing to verify the preparedness of service providers and ensure the implementation of Hajj service plans.
