KSrelief Participates in Senior Humanitarian Officials Meeting on Ukraine

Brussels, January (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 30 كانون الثاني 2025ء) The meeting was chaired by European Commission Director for the European Neighborhood, middle East and South-West and Central Asia Andreas Papaconstantinou.

Also attending were European Commissioner for Preparedness, Crisis Management and Equality Hadja Lahbib; Ukraine Presidential Office Deputy Head Iryna Vereshchuk; Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Social Policy for European Integration Iryna Postolovska; and Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Health for European Integration Maryna Slobodnichenko.

Dr. Omar participated in a session titled, "Sustainability of Humanitarian Funding in 2025," where she highlighted Saudi Arabia’s efforts, represented by KSrelief, to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees in Poland, through two agreements with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $10 million.

She emphasized the Kingdom’s support, under the directives of its leadership, amounting to $400 million, which included an air bridge consisting of 21 airplanes carrying medical supplies, power generators, and shelter equipment.

She said that the Kingdom has provided 125 ambulances to support Ukraine’s healthcare sector and signed multiple agreements with UN organizations to assist vulnerable populations with protection and healthcare services.

Dr. Omar underscored the importance of enhancing international aid coordination to ensure an effective and sustainable humanitarian response, while also expanding donor contributions.

The meeting discussions focused on Ukraine’s urgent humanitarian needs, the localization of humanitarian responses, and the challenges in delivering aid amid growing demands.

Saudi Arabia's participation reaffirms its commitment to leading humanitarian efforts and strengthening international cooperation in line with humanitarian principles and sustainable development.
