In his opening speech, Al-Hogail affirmed that the Kingdom is leading the march toward the future with steady steps and an ambitious vision.
He stated that this gathering marks a new milestone added to the record of national achievements and provides a dialogue platform to present the best international practices and discuss innovative solutions for the development of a sector that constitutes a fundamental pillar of mega projects.
Minister Al-Hogail indicated that Saudi Vision 2030 places great emphasis on urban infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability in cities, and adopting smart solutions in facility management.
He also noted that the ministry has adopted a strategic approach focused on improving the efficiency of municipal facilities and strengthening their operational readiness by establishing mechanisms and standards to assess their performance, developing related regulations and guidelines to ensure sustainability, and enhancing the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
Moreover, he highlighted the importance of the facility management sector as one of the vital industries, noting that the local market was valued at around SAR180 billion in 2024, with annual growth expected to exceed 7% through 2030.
In this regard, he indicated that this growth is driven by Saudi Vision 2030 and the expansion of mega projects, creating major investment opportunities for local and international companies, particularly in digital transformation, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
He concluded his speech by stressing that the International Facility Management Conference and Exhibition 2025 comes as part of integrated efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a regional and global hub for knowledge and innovation in this vital sector.
Additionally, the minister praised SFMA’s efforts, the organizing committees, partners, and sponsors, and expressed appreciation to participants from inside and outside the Kingdom for their strong presence.
