Madinah, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 16 يوليو 2025ء) The HLPF brings together UN member states to review global efforts and progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set for 2030.
The authority’s participation comes as part of the Kingdom’s delegation to HLPF, led by Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim. This year’s participation affirms the Kingdom’s commitment to aligning the principles of Saudi Vision 2030 with the global framework of SDGs, highlighting Madinah’s leadership in localizing the SDGs and its early adoption of the global Quality of Life Index initiative.
Mayor of Madinah Region and CEO of the Madinah Region Development Authority Eng. Fahad bin Mohammed Albulihshi will deliver the Kingdom’s address at the Local and Regional Governments Forum, held as part of HLPF.
His speech will highlight Madinah’s leadership in localizing SDGs and underscore the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing SDG localization at the local level, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
On the sidelines of the forum, the mayor will hold a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of local and regional governments to explore avenues for cooperation in advancing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Discussions will also cover the role of governance, inclusive services, and local investment in driving SDG progress at the regional level. This comes amid the authority’s issuing of the “Atlas of Sustainable Development in Al Madinah City Neighborhoods” and the “Al Madinah City Resilience Report,” both of which provide an evidence-based and balanced analysis of sustainable development in the region.
