Abkhazian Presidential Election Postponed to August 25 - Lawmaker
SUKHUMI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th May, 2019) The Abkhazian parliament has voted to postpone the presidential election from July 21 to August 25, lawmaker Lasha Ashuba said on Tuesday.
Abkhazian President Raul Khadzhimba introduced last week a bill to postpone the election amid the political crisis in Abkhazia.
"We have already taken the decision ... We have voted to postpone the election by a majority of 25 votes," Ashuba told reporters.
As many as 30 lawmakers were present at the parliamentary session.
