ATC Administrative Judge Manzar Gul approves Cheema’s bail and directs him to submit surety bonds worth Rs100,000
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 16th, 2025) The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Sunday granted post-arrest bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and former Punjab governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema in a case related to the May 9 riots case.
The court was hearing a case registered at the Shadman Police Station in connection with arson and vandalism during the nationwide protests on May 9, following the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan.
During the proceedings, Cheema’s counsel, Advocate Hassan Yousaf Shah, presented arguments in support of the bail plea. The PTI leader had filed the application while in jail.
After hearing the arguments, Administrative Judge Manzar Gul of the ATC approved Cheema’s bail and directed him to submit surety bonds worth Rs100,000.
Cheema is among several PTI leaders and workers who were arrested in connection with the violent protests that erupted across the country last year.
