Opting to bat first, Pakistan posted a total of 134-8 in 20 overs at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, and in response, New Zealand faltered and were bundled out for a mere 92, allowing Pakistan to defend a modest total and avoid a series whitewash.

Opener Saim Ayub couldn't provide a solid start and was out after scoring 10 runs and Mohammad Rizwan added 24 run  while Babar Azam fought to complete his fifty but got out for 58 runs.

The Kiwis have set 195-run target for Pakistan by batting first in the second T20I match but Pakistan could score only 173 runs at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
